Looking for the father of James McClain. James born 1770 in Somerset, PA, married 1805 Ross, OH, died 1855 Wyandot, OH. DNA triangulation leads me to William McLean in PA. But other triangulation leads me to other conclusions. Since the paper trail is nearly non-existent, and the DNA is in the 5th cousin realm I'm hoping to find more direction. I'm working to identify all McClain, McLain, McLane, McClean, McLean pioneer families in PA.

Hi my mother maiden name McLean are associated with Scotia Nova McLean it seems that way anyway doing my family tree is a fairly new project to me so I'm not sure how reliable the information is. Although DNA has been tested but I'm not sure how to clarify putting the information together to achieve solid confirmation
